Dash search lagging

While typing in search field letters are somewhat delayed. Typing, removing letters doesn't feel smooth. (In german I'd say 'hakelig', but there isn't a perfect translation to it.)
Test the difference between typing in a text field in browser and then in dash.
The search field has to be clicked to recognize an attempt to type, although the cursor blinks.
To be clear it's only the search field, items are displayed immediately.

firstly you upgrade your ubuntu....it has about 11days before updates .. update it than see.. is this affecting you or not??.

The reporter is using unity 4.8.0-0ubuntu1 he is quite upto date.

I also experience this issue on a 32bit install of oneiric. Not only does the search lag, the highlighting over icons lags too. I have a Gateway MT6458 with 2GB ram

The dash's speed seems to improve if I disable blurring in ccsm

Confirmed Ryan, disabling blur makes typing flawless again.

there is performance boost for 'active blur' in trunk which should
make things better.
