Bug Description

I don't know if this is only my machine, but in 11.10 fully updated as of this post, the Ubuntu Start icon which replaced the apps and file search icons does not allow access to apps not immediately available at its initial visible state. It does not throw any error, but rather does not do anything.

I'm using it further, and mouse recognition is about 35 pixels high, can't scroll, and there's an odd use of space at the bottom just taking up room. Is gnome 3 workable? This is ridiculous.

Refine search for file searched does nothing except move its pointer.

For me, the "Ubuntu Start" icon on the dock. Every time I click it and then try to select and of the "'X' apps" it closes, and there are some other things that don't work right. Its not just repeatable, I can't get it not to happen under any scenario. Also, the whole concept of the "Ubuntu Start" option in the dock came as a surprise to me, so I have no idea how it works. At this point, if you want to see for your self, I'd let a Canonical employee remote desktop into my machine. It looks normal when I click on the "Ubuntu Start" (or so I assume) but it closes when I select something to select a program. With each update, the behavior seems to drift a little though.

Now how do I tell this to add this to that bug report?
