Bug Description

I created 1 new file named “通信传染” and 1 new folder named “通信传” on the Desktop. Searching for “通” in the 'dash' (Super + F) returns 0 match. I expect those 2 files should appear in the search result. Log out and log in doesn't make a difference.

Screenshot will be attached.

Ubuntu 11.10 Alpha i386 (20110803.1)
Unity-2d: 3.8.14.1-0ubuntu1
xapian-tools: 1.2.5-2~ppa1

Samantha: can you test with the latest patch, now in: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-desktop/+archive/ppa

Also, for the files to match, they must be seen by Zeitgeist, ie: you need to open them once from Nautilus or the Dash. If you create or view them in an independent thread of activity, the system will not take them into account.

Hi all,
I just verify this issue again and follow Samantha procedure without open the target "file/folder", the result is same as Samantha.
After I open the named of "通额“ file and "通好" folder to build the index, the search result just return 1 result as "通额“ file without "通好" folder.
