autoscroll shows the "resize up" cursor

Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

2.0+0dfsg-0ubuntu3 edgy on amd64
This requires enabling general.autoScroll in about:config, and probably disabling middlemouse.paste and middlemouse.contentLoadURL

The best way to reproduce it is to open many tabs of different websites (~30), and look at the autoscroll hover cursor in each. Some will have the correct "move" cursor (which looks like a hand in the Ubuntu Human theme), and some will have the incorrect "resize up" cursor.

2.0+0dfsg-0ubuntu3 isnt the latest firefox for edgy. Please try with 2.0.0.1+0dfsg-0ubuntu0.6.10
and see if you can reproduce this issue.

It also happens on 2.0.0.1+0dfsg-0ubuntu0.6.10
I managed to reproduce it with the development sources from mozilla.org, and another person has experienced it on gentoo. (this may not be an ubuntu bug)

what desktop environment are you using?

Does starting firefox with -safe-mode command line option help?

I'm using GNOME.
the bug still occurs in -safe-mode. (it still runs it under gtk, if that's what you wanted to test)

I just don't see this issue. We need a tester.

After a testing session on #ubuntu-mozillateam with Alexander, we came to the conclusion that the bug is shy and appears quite randomly.

A website that showed up with the wrong cursor on my machine did not exhibit the same problem on another tester's machine.

I noticed that I see the wrong cursor on pages that have only a vertical or horizontal scroll.
When the page has both scrollbars, the correct "hand" icon is displayed.

I think there's something wrong with how firefox interacts with GNOME's(?) North-South and East-West resize cursors.
I reported a similar problem in bug 113683.

A recent change in the autoscroll code removed all cursor behavior - it now shows the regular cursor.
I am working to get the hovering cursor back.

Firefox no longer seems to use the "move" cursor when using autoscroll, so I don't think this is relevant any more.
