cannot set automatic login through system settings

Bug Description
Following on from this bug -

I was unable to set automatic login at the install stage. I've installed Ubuntu 11.10 alpha 3 successfully but if I go to user accounts and try to set automatic login, the option doesn't stick. I set it to Automatic login , ON and then exit the program, reopen user settings to see that Automatic login is OFF again
