I know about the GConf-WARNING and at first sight I don't think is the cause behind is not working for you: thery're supposed to be innocent warnings.

So, in order to gather the causes of the bug or give you a solution: would you be so nice to tell me?:
* What are your default locale? Italian i guess
* What's exactly happening to you? Wiican can't be launched? It crashes at some point?
* What's your source of installation? Do you download the launchpad tarball? Do you installed via getdeb?

Kind regards,

Hi,
sorry but i don't speak english!
I try to answer to you.
You guess right, my locale is Italian.
Wiican can't be launched, nothing happens.
For this reason i try to launch wiican in a terminal.
I have installed with Ubuntu Software Center but if you want i can try to install via tarball.
Another thingh.... when i launch wiican in the terminal everything seems to be busy and then i use ctrl+c to terminate the process.
This is the result:
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/wiican", line 323, in <module>
    launch_statusicon()
  File "/usr/bin/wiican", line 283, in launch_statusicon
    gobject.MainLoop().run()

Thanks for your help.
Kind regards

this is the package installed: 0.3.2-1~getdeb3~natty (wiican)
this don't work.

I have added the getdeb repo and for this reason i have wiican in ubuntu software center but the source of installation is getdeb!

I have installed wiican via tarball but this don't work too.
I attach a file with the installation log.
I don't know why wiican not work.
I don't find errors in log file.
My kernel is Linux 2.6.38-11-generic-pae #47-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 15 21:14:49 UTC 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux and i checked all the dependencies.

If you want i can make other test but i do not know what to do.

I've been able to reproduce the bug using Unity desktop.

Does it work for you if you start a session using Ubuntu Classic instead of Ubuntu? You can switch from the user/pass dialog when you start your computer.

I'm pretty sure is an Unity issue (unity is the new Ubuntu's desktop environment).
Other apps are suffering the same problem:

I'm going to close this bug and open a new for tracking wiican unity integration.

Wiican-0.3.3 release fix the problem with Unity Desktop by replacing gtk-2.x StatusIcon with an AppIndicator.

You can download debian packages[1] or install it via tarball[2]
