The low-level debugging over a serial port is know to be not very robust, esp when the platform has to do some initialization of the ports before serial drivers are loaded.

Yeah, you can confirm yourself with gitweb easily enough. here's the 'permalink' for that branch

...you can see Jassi's patch is the HEAD. In this case the patch is android-specific so it went on at the end of everything.
