Bug Description

This keeps coming up.

There is likely a duplicate report from earlier.

I still do not understand the issue.

apt seems to function as ever, except for a long delay at the end of an apt-get update (which has been happening for months before this error appeared, but apport was not functioning for most (any?) of that time.

I have a lot of 404s and authentication errors when downloading packages, but I am not user it's related to this.
