Lubuntu suspend doesn't work

When closing the lid on my netbook, Compaq Mini 1100, suspend doesn't work when the lid is closed. Choosing suspend from the power button in the lower panel does work.

I'm seeing the same problem after I upgrade from Lubuntu 11.04 to 11.10(official release) on my netbook ASUS 1005PXD. The function was working fine in 11.04, but now I have to select suspend from the power down dialogue.

It affects me also... :( IBM X31, radeon card. Suspend is blanking screen, stopping fan and hd drive, but the backlight is still on. No working key, even capslock is not affecting "caps light" to change. Only way to stop it is hardreset. Same story for hibernation.

cariboo907, thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Oneiric reached EOL on May 9, 2013.
