Bug Description

In the sound menu, when a song is been played, the cover art and song information area gets highlighted on mouseover. This makes most users think some action would be triggered on click, like bring the music player to the front. But nothing happens.

Steps to reproduce:
* open banshee and play a song
* minimise banshee window, or put some other window on top of it
* go to the sound menu, see how the cover art and song information area gets highlighted on overing it (screenshot attached)
* click on this area

Observed: nothing
Suggestion 1: highlight the music player name, the cover art and song information together on mouse-over, then bring the music player to the front on click.
Suggestion 2: keep the same highlight pattern (separate for music player name / song information) - bring the music player to the front when cover art and song information is clicked.

An ideal papercut ?

the same happens when you start banshee from the SoundMenu, the menu does not close but banshee does open

Omer: Thank you for confirming this bug.

I am reverting to the original summary, so to make it clear the problem is some action should be triggered on click (not only that the sound menu should close).

summary: - SoundMenu does not close on clicking song information
+ Nothing happens on clicking over song information

As a matter of fact, on my configuration the sound menu does close on clicking over song information ;)

Ric, if banshee is not focused clicking on the song information brings it to the front, this behavior changed in Oneriic previously it would copy the song information to clipboard. So now when banshee closes the SoundMenu does not close thats what I have been able to reproduce.

Thanks for reporting this.

Left click should bring the player to the forefront. This can sometimes be unresponsive for reasons beyond the scope of the i-sound.
Right click should copy the metadata of the listed track to the clipboard.

There was a bug which was fixed last week whereby the menu did not close on right click. Should be resolved now.

Marking as resolved for now.
