[network-admin] fails to switch properly between profiles

Bug Description

I have a laptop with 2 network profiles.
A: wireless outbound connection and ethernet wired connection to home lan.
B: wired ethernet connection with adsl modem. no wireless connection.

If I first select profile B and then A it's all OK.
If I first select profile A, when I switch to profile B wireless interface is still up which is not correct (in my case it causes additional problems due to ip/netmask overlapping between interfaces), because in profile B wireless connection is set as not active.

Thank you for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? The interface to apply the change was confusing, it's probably better with edgy or feisty though (you have an explicit "apply" button next to the profile)

I'm using edgy. I use the 'V' button near the profile select box to apply one
profile.

confirmed with a wired connection. this first happened to my installation on 2007-07-29. set up profile for the wired connection. applied the profile. some time later internet connections time out. reason: missing DNS servers from the connection profile.

reapply the correct profile. changes not applied to the network interface. reapply the correct profile again. finally works.

using GNOME network-admin 2.18.1 on Linux 2.6.20-16-lowlatency kernel (Ubuntu Feisty 7.04).

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at [WWW] http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
