Bug Description

I'm experiencing complete system freeze / hang on my server (Dapper 6.06.1).

My server's is an
    * Athlon 1333 MHz
    * 768MB memory
    * Ati Radeon 9200
    * Hauppauge PVR-150
    * CNet Gbit network card
    * Two SiI 3114 SATA controllers with lots of disks:
          o /boot using ext2
          o /root using Reiserfs
          o /multimedia using XFS

No keyboard or mouse is hooked up, I use shell over ssh to admin the box. I don't use graphical interface, so the server doesn't have X, Gnome or KDE installed.

Since the very first day I installed Dapper I've experienced quite regularily freeze/ hangs, of about 3 days between each one. Only a reboot will correct the problem (temporarily).

/var/log/syslog doesn't show anything (I think), here's a snip of the syslog around the time of my lock-up earlier:

I could really need some help and assistance in hunting this problem down. Thanks!

I think it can be a kernel bug. If I'm wrong, just change to the proper package ;)

Thanks.

I should also mention that I run the server with
    * /root in Linux software raid 1
    * /multimedia in Linux software raid 5

Can you tell us about the motherboard model & has all the updates been applied esp., kernel update.

Motherboard is Epox EP-8KTA3+ and it had all the updates (including kernel) applied (restarted etc).

However, I couldn't live with a server that was this unstable, so I'm no longer running this hardware... If no one else is complaining you might as well close this bug.

Thanks
