Bug Description

My wifi connection becomes practically unusable after some random time. Reseting the connection helps for a while. Link speeds drop severely even though the signal is strong. This problem doesn't occur with the same hardware on windows. Tested with several different access points. No specific output in logs. Previously I suffered from the following bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/736171 but now I don't get any messages and the connection is much more stable than before so I guess this might be a separate bug.
Screenshot attached with transfer speeds in my local network (after I reset the connection every think becomes fine for a while).

I had the same problem, and found that post: http://blog.homelinux.org/?p=327

it works for me..
btw, no need to reboot, just rmmod ath9k, and modprobe ath9k.

Hope it helps!

Do you happen to know if this only happens with wireless protocol N? This may be a duplicate of bug 836250

It occurs more often in N mode than in G mode but is not limited to it.

Lukasz Olszewski, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number>

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have any issue with that bug and I use the same ath9k driver, but I face this issue: #945379
