I had this one in the past but was fixed for awhile.

I had just updated & upgraded two sets of updates.

crashed again while filing the 3 other error messages I got after <just crashed after computer beeped and I was typing this> updating today twice.

Sounds like stale environment variables. I know how to fix this...

Yes, gnome-osd 0.12.1 should have it fixed.

I have moved to Gusty Gibbons Final 7.10 via fresh install from Live CD.
So I guess you can close the bug as it relates to me, for now, and I will file if it happens again.
