Bug Description

It should be possible to change the destination location on receiving products after confirming a purchase order. When I change the destination location to a location that has a chained location, the stock moves for these chained location is not generated. When I receive products manually not linked to a purchase order and set location to a location with a chained location it works as it should.

Chained moves are created when the stock move is confirmed. This is good is it allows to have virtual locations that are correct.
The problem is that if we change the initial move (destination, product, qty or whatever) it will not impact the others moves. Unfortunatelly, this is not something we can fix without reviewing completly the chain system of OpenERP.

I close this bug as we can not fix it. We can consider this as a missing feature. Please create a feedback on feedback.openerp.com and we will see if sufficiently enough people are interrested to this to know if we rewrite the chain system of OpenERP.

Thank you for your comment. I'm still stuck with this problem of a "missing feature". My problem is the following: when I confirm an purchase order, it is not yet clear how the goods are shipped from supplier to incoming stock. So after conferming the purchase order, when goods are ready to ship, we deside for each product individually if products has to be shipped per "Sea" or per "Air" with completely different delays. I tried to use the functionality of linked locations to track incoming goods in different transit-locations. But because of this "missing feature" it seems to be completely impossible for me to find a solution for our purchase-workflow in OpenERP. Or is there maybe a workaround or an other solution to solve our problem? What is your suggestion?
