Bug Description

I just installes Ubuntu 11.04 on my new system (booting with efi) and when I try to upgrade the system synaptic suggests to remove grub-efi and grub-efi-amd64 with grub-pc.

This type of problem was reported long ago but unfortunately never fixed. Since many non mac systems start to support uefi I think it gets important to fix this problem. For more details see also bug 532903.

This is a major deal-breaker for people with UEFI motherboard, ie most new systems. I have rarely been as disappointed. Someone should take action NOW.
