Installed unity-greeter and set unity as greeter-theme.
Top corner on the right displays
indicator-sound 0.7.3-0ubuntu1
indicator-datetime 0.2.91-0ubuntu2
indicator-session 0.2.93-0ubuntu1
they don't fit with the rest of the theme, rather look like gtk2 fragments.
Update: Icons and theming look better integrated now.
Click on date&time indicator opens the window which can't be closed again.
Need to reboot via tty.
Open system-settings, it opens at bottom edge, isn't removable and can't be moved. Just leave it there, you can still login with unity-greeter on the left. After login the window changes to normal incl. window decorations.

Regarding Bug #811853
Able to run banshee from indicator-sound.
Run system-settings (g-c-c) and update-manager.
Update-manager has window-decorations and allows to check for updates.
Go to tty to grep the process. (attached files)
Since login isn't possible then because all windows are open and can't be closed, except update-manager, stop and restart lightdm from tty. All windows are then gone and user can login.
