Bug Description

Please sync psycopg2 2.4.2-1 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:

We carry two deltas:

psycopg2 (2.2.1-1ubuntu2) natty; urgency=low

  * Rebuild to add support for python 2.7.

psycopg2 (2.2.1-1ubuntu1) maverick; urgency=low

  * Merge from Debian (LP: #611040). Remaining changes:
    debian/control, debian/rules: Install a seperate testsuite package.

The first one clearly is inconsequential. I've contacted Mikhail via private
email and will subscribe him to this bug, but I don't see any reason to
diverge from Debian for this. There may be some rationale behind the scenes
though, so let's give Mikhail a little time to respond.

Note that this sync will fix bug 811115, and will give us dh_python2
conversion for free, so I think it's high value.

Changelog entries since current oneiric version 2.2.1-1ubuntu2:

psycopg2 (2.4.2-1) unstable; urgency=low

  [ Jakub Wilk ]
  * Add Debian Python Modules Team to Uploaders.

  [ Fabio Tranchitella ]
  * New upstream release.
  * debian/watch: updated, use pypi.
  * debian/control, debian/rules: switched to dh_python2.
  * debian/control: bumped Standard-Version to 3.9.2, no changes required.

Mikhail, can you please comment on whether we need to keep your changes for Ubuntu. If it really is useful to provide a separate test suite, shouldn't that change get pushed upstream to Debian?

Thanks!

I think we've waited long enough. Could one of the archive admins perform the sync? Thanks!
