Bug Description
Binary package hint: hardware-monitor
Version: Hardware Monitor 1.2.1-3build1 (on Edgy)
I have two hardware monitor applets on my panel (CPU & network). Several times a day, they both suddenly freeze up for a short period and then crash and I'm asked if I want to reload them[1]. Once reloaded, they work fine (for a while at least).
Today I happened to have System Monitor opened when the crash occurred. Memory usage spiked by about 1 GB (causing swapping) just before the crash.
As far as I can tell, there's nothing special that triggers this.
Uptime is pretty much random. It just crashed again while I was reporting this bug, a few minutes after reloading it. Usually it takes a lot longer.
[1]: Exact text:

"Hardware Monitor" has quit unexpectedly
If you reload a panel object, it will automatically be added back to the panel.
