Bug Description

I have a problem with my Lenovo X220 i7 running Ubuntu 11.04. The problem occours when my notebook does suspend (to ram or disk) by using FN+F4 or by using the menu entry or by closing the notebook. On resume it shows a screen with log messages that was also shown when going to suspend and it does not react to any interaction - switching to a terminal is not possible. Only a hard reset is possible. It works fine by using pm-suspend. I looked in /var/log/pm-suspend.log and found differences between the working procedure and the non-working one.

How can I export PM_DEBUG=true in a global way so that I can see the debug output even if I am not using a shell?

The problem does not occure since two weeks. I think it was due to an update while it has been fixed (?). So the bug can be marked as solved or deleted.
