Nouveau system running "hot", laggy

Bug Description
After I removed NVidia driver and started using nouveau 3d in oneiric, system started to run very warm and became laggy in the interface interactions. CPU load isn't higher than normal.

On IRC it seemed that this was due to ubuntuone- syncdaemon continually dying and respawinng. Is that the case?
