HDMI Audio isn't working on PandaBoard on Android

Kernel_version : 2.6.35.7

Ported Android on Pandaboard and Connected to a HDMI TV through HDMI interface. Tried audio playback over HDMI, It didnt work and tried the same on audio jack it's working.

HDMI Audio is not working on Android on pandaboard.

There is not yet any support in the Android Panda LEB userland for audio, either onboard or HDMI

To be clear onboard and HDMI audio is working in the current landing team kernel fine. It's just not supported in Android specifically. If we want to make a milestone for it, it needs to be created against Android guys not the landing team.

Hi Andy,

I get a kernel panic IF I run the commands.
#amixer settings as per your mail
#alsa_aplay -l

However I can here some jitter when I run these commands.
#alsa_amixer settings as per your mail
#alsa_aplay -D hw:0,8 /data/dump.pcm -f S32_LE -vvv

I have attached the logs in both case.And I see only S32_LE is being supported and the sampling rate is also getting configured wrongly during playback.
Correct me if I am wrong
Is the device hw:0,8 correspond to headset ?
Is the device hw:1,0 corresponf to HDMI ?

No, probably 0,6 is what you want. We don't guarantee anything except headset / multimedia out has been tested.
