Bug Description

I have a SiS M760GX graphic card on my laptop, and the two following packages don't seems to work : xserver-xorg-video-sis and xserver-xorg-video-sisusb.

With Kubuntu 5.04, it worked perfectly. But since the upgrade to Kubutnu 6.10, I can't play the video with any software, and 3D don't work very well. I have removed the two packages (but keep xserevr-xorg-video-vesa), and all this things work.
I don't know how to fix this bug.

It is my first bug report, so I hope that I do what It must be done.

How have you upgraded from 5.04 to 6.10? Have you done it directly? Or you have you upgraded from 5.04 to 5.10, then to 6.06 and then to 6.10? Or did you want to say 5.10 instead of 6.10?

Pochu

I've upgrade from 5.04 to 6.10 with the CD. I have format all my hard drive during this operation. I'd just like to say that the driver work correctly in Kubuntu 5.04.

So if you have formatted your hard drive you haven't upgraded, you have installed ;-)

I've set up the packages to xserver-xorg-video-sis and xserver-xorg-video-sisusb.

Hi iunity,

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? (ISOs are available from cdimage.ubuntu.com)

If it remains an issue, could you also attach a new /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
Thanks in advance.

The output of lspci -vvnn would also be worth having.
