Bug Description

A possible earlier instance of this bug was marked fixed over at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/444993, but this must be another problem as I'm now getting this in 11.04 (Natty), and even when I wait 10 seconds before closing.

Steps to reproduce:
1) System -> Preferences -> Startup Applications.
2) Click "Add".
3) Name = "Terminal"; Command = "/usr/bin/gnome-terminal"; Comment = "Start a terminal".
4) Click "Add".
5) Click "Close".
6) System -> Preferences -> Startup Applications..
7) The newly added "Terminal" startup program is missing.

I'm putting this as duplicate of Bug #523796 since the root cause seem to be the same (although different releases). I couldn't reproduce the error on my computer.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

I am not convinced this is a duplicate. I have a few notification programs that will work for a while and then suddenly disappear. This has been occurring for me since 13.04. I have created a script that copies over a backup of the autostart directory before shutdown, and it has not occurred since.
