Bug Description
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a live usb with ubuntu on a pendrive with usb-creator
2. Restart the system (maybe this step is required)
3. Insert the pendrive
4. Open it in Nautilus and try to create a new file on it (or copy/or write to it somehow)
Actual output:
The file seems to be created, but when unmounting a disk strange errors start to appear, and no file is created. A pendrive returns input/output errors etc.
This is a regression as i remember writing in ubuntu on such disks, although I tested it wit 2.6.32-22 and behavior is the same (maybe it isn't the kernel that is a root-cause?).
I think usb-creator is important because I have 4 pendrives: 2 of them has live cd content and neither works, and one of those that works OK is almost identical to one of broken ones.
Please take a look at my attachment: there are a logs when I do steps to reproduce problem on 'working' pendrive (at first), and on 'broken' one.
This is serious as those pendrives are effectively read-only - you can't even format them.
And on 11.04 is also affected.

Piotr Janas, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/daily- live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications- >Accessories- >Terminal) , as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:
