Bug Description

After submitting this bug to https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/39434 I've been sent here.

I'm running Edgy Eft.

Basically, Rhythmbox will freeze whenever my ipod is connected. It tries to read the ipod and crashes, menaing I have to terminate it in order to unmount the ipod. If rb is running and I plug the ipod in, same thing happens. Gtkpod cannot connect either, but Banshee has no problem.

Rhythmbox 0.9.6 + iPod 4g

I was prompted that my problem was related to faad2.

edit: man I always throw in an extra y in "rhythm". This is one my misspelling super villians.

Go ahead and close the bug, I found the problem.

For some reason, I'm not sure how, I had version 0.4.2-0.1
of the following packages:

- libgpod0
- libgpod-common
- python-gpod

I downgraded those packages to 0.3.2-1 and the ipod works nicely with rhythymbox.
