Bug Description
If I run the tapaal.bat, and java is not installed, then the terminal window is closed instantly, and one can not read the error.
There should be a clear error that Java is not installed.

This is a big problem on windows. I can be fixed by combiling an exe file with eg. launch4j that automatic setups java and sends the user to a download page if it cant be found. A working config file is found in source in tools.
However we still need to run tapaal using the bat script to setup paths for verifytapn and verifyta.
If could add a check in the soruce and assume the location of verifytapn on windows if path is not set. Or we could du something with creating a install file for windows using something like lzpack.
