GUI thread is busy a long time during [Test mail settings] click handler

1. The work during the handler must be done in another thread, while the GUI thread will still handle the X events. Currently, the X events are not handled, so the dialog 'freezes'.

2. The work during the handler of "Test mail settings" button is too long. It must quickly connect to the SMTP server, test the validity of user's login data, and report the result of this test. During this, the current status of connection may be displayed.
