Bug Description

Everytime I resume a session after suspending my laptop I need to turn off the Wi-Fi and then turn it on again in order to effectively make a connection. If I don't turn off the Wi-Fi, the indicator says I'm connected to the internet, but I will not be able to enter any website or use any internet resource (IM, update manager, etc.). I'm on a HP's EliteBook 2530p (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/en/WF06a/321957-321957-64295-3740645-3955549-3782222.html).

I'm currently using Ubuntu natty.

If I wait some hours to resume from suspend the issue doesn't happen. I can only replicate it if I suspend then resume in less than one or two hours.

Diogo Almeida, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number>

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.

Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance.

Hello! Thank you for the interest in this bug! It still affects me, though I haven't upgraded to the latest release yet. Can I try from a live pen and expect the behavior to be equal to the one I would have if I had installed the system?

I booted my pc from a live pen with the latest ubuntu release (12.04), installed all the updates and then tried to replicate the bug, and I managed to do that anytime I suspended the laptop and restarted my session.
