system-settings -> system info (gnome-control-center) states Gnome 3.1.2

Right, gnome-system-monitor is still at 2.32. The main blocker here is that the 3.0 version needs gtkmm3.0, so we'd have two gtkmm versions on the CD. Once gparted gets ported from 2.4 to 3.0, we'll update g-s-m as wel.

The bindings are in Oneiric and Debian did the update so it would be easy to follow when we want to

The problem here is that the package we have is reading /usr/share/gnome-about/gnome-version.xml, instead of /usr/share/gnome/gnome-version.xml, which does contain the correct version number. I have been looking at the code and still not sure why it reads that wrong file, since the source code points to $DATADIR/gnome/gnome-version.xml

Of course, I was reading the source code for the 3.0 series, that's why I couldn't see where that file was being read!! So, this will get fixed automatically as soon as we can do the update to the 3.x series
