There is a newer version (1.4.4) of the package in Ubuntu 11.10, which contains bugfix (Included in upstream) :

 * Fix crash in some cases when the number of watched file descriptors decreases.

Could you please backport this version to Ubuntu 11.04?

BTW, i've compiled a version for Ubuntu 10.04 for my test-machine. The Oneiric-package compiles without any changes under Ubuntu 10.04. Maybe you could make an official backport for this Ubuntu-version too?

Can one of you please confirm that 1.4.4 from Oneiric builds, installs and runs (against flashplugin-installer in Natty) on Natty.

I can then approve the backport of this version.

The package from Oneiric compiles without any flaws under Natty. There are no chances needed.
