pressing alf+f2 confuses

Bug Description

when we press alt+f2 than dash comes we write some thing in dash to search like we write "apport" when we take the cursor from end to start of word "apport" than while pressing shft+ right arrow key to select the some words of "apport" like we select "appo".than if we press ctrl+X, or ctrl + Z or ctrl+ C
than annoying characters appears in the search area
to reproduce
1)
    press alt + F2
2)
   write something for example apport
3)
   select some words of that full word
4)
    than press ctrl + z or ctrl + x or ctrl + c
5)
   result is before u
     annoying characters appears
