Bug Description

I inserted a written DVD+RW , right clicked its icon on desktop and selected "Blank Disc...".
In the dialog where the "Fast blanking" option was preselected, I clicked the "Blank" button.

After one minute of DVD unit activity the disc was ejected and immediately pulled back in.
Then again ejected and pulled back. And again.
Then it was ejected and it stayed that way.
After of complete 3 minutes and 20 seconds a new dialog appears, saying that the blanking is finished.

In Windows it takes 10 seconds and zero ejects.

This is reproducible.

Thanks for the report, could you please get a brasero log? just run it as : brasero --brasero-burn-debug --brasero-media-debug &> brasero-debug.txt ; reproduce the issue and attach the resulting log file to the report. Thanks.

I burned some files to a DVD+RW media (why does it eject after burning? Burners don't need that for 10 years now).

After that, when I insert this DVD+RW, the DVD icon disappears from nautilus.

If I start brasero like you suggested and go to the Tools/Blank... menu, the dialog that appears claims that there is no disc available.

OK, I rebooted to Windows, blanked the DVD+RW, burned some new content to it, rebooted back to Ubuntu and run again:

brasero --brasero-burn-debug --brasero-media-debug &> brasero-debug.txt2

And selected Blank... in the menu.
The resulting file is attached.

Note, this time the VD was ejected "only" twice.
