Hi,

Default behaviour is to open these files in Totem, which seems to work fine. Have you used some plugin or another to play the media in the browser itself? Can you say which one please so I can try and reproduce this problem?

Thanks,

Yep, problem appears only with vlc plugin installed.
Without it, firefox correctly offers me to download/open the file.

Is bug 722690 the issue you're experiencing?

Yes, that’s definitely the same issue. One difference is that here I was trying to open playlist (.m3u) file.
