Please backport packaging-dev 0.1.1 to natty, maverick, and lucid. It builds without modifications and installs.

Forgot this is a metapackage. "Running" it is a bit of a no-op. Approved by ubuntu-backporters.

If it's intended to have this backported all the way to lucid, is there any reason the oneiric version requires debhelper 8? If you just relaxed that, we could do no-change backports, instead of special-casing lucid. I can't imagine you need any fancy new debhelper features to build a metapackage. :P

When I created the metapackage, I didn't tough about backporting it to lucid.

Which is why it's good not to over-specify version requirements.

(That was my subtle way of saying "upload a new version to oneiric that builds correctly with more versions of debhelper, and I'll be happy to backport that instead".

Erm, and I just realised you were maintaining it in Debian, not Ubuntu, so... Same argument, but make it work with versions of debhelper going back to 7.0.15 (lenny's version), and update it in sid, and I'll sync and backport it? ;)

(Okay, so the lenny requirement is just nitpicking on my part, but may as well, right?)

I downgraded the debhelper dependency to the lowest needed one (7.0.50~ for dh_override_* targets) and uploaded it as version 0.1.1. Please backport that.
