Bug Description

File '/System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/sRGB Profile.icc' not found

This path is presumably correct for OS X but obviously not for Linux!
It is present in the /usr/lib/cups/driver/gutenprint.5.2 binary.

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04
Package: cups-driver-gutenprint 5.2.6-1ubuntu1

Just had this very problem yesterday, any sort of colour printing just hangs in the print queue and the log complains about the following file missing:-

'/System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/sRGB Profile.icc’

Printing plain text goes through fine

A missing color profile should not prevent Gutenprint from printing, Gutenprint simply prints without color correction in this case. So please report a new bug and follow the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems, especially of the sections "CUPS error_log" and "Capturing print job data". Thanks.

@David S
When I wait for 5 to 10 mins after the error message the printer eventual starts.

@Till Kamppeter
I linked to the Debian bug as they have identified the problem and started discussing the solution. They have run into the problem that gutenprint orphaned.

Ok, perhaps I'm not being patient or perhaps it's my setup, but so far my experience is as follows;- (I'll try this again later just to verify)

I've shared the printer to allow network printing; when a colour job is sent - the print queue hangs (I'll wait a bit longer too see if anything happens) with the error log showing the message about colour profile. If I delete this job from the cups interface (localhost:631) then assuming the following job is plain text this will proceed to print out normally.

For people who need this fixed there is this tutorial on how to hand change the files. This is not a long term fix but should allow printing in till the main fix is produced.
