no notifications when using gnome 3

Bug Description

when using gnome 3 there are no notifitcations

I didn't notice this until i installed a gnome 2.x desktop and noticed all the notifications I was missing before
there really isn't a log to attach for this

running fedora 15 gnome 3/ openSuSe gnome 3 (x64)

Is python-notify installed?

there isn't a python-notify on fedora

but there is a notify-python but this is installed

Have you tried running the native.py script on its own:

$ cd syncany/syncany
$ bin/native.py $(pwd)/res "some text"

Can you print the output?
