maximizing or opening maximized evince does not redraw the window properly

Bug Description
When opening a document with evince, and the window is automatically maximized the topmost part of the window is an empty(transparent) space. Also maximizing an unmaximized window will show the same problem. See attached screenshot.
This does not happen always but randomly so.
I think to remember that this problem does not occur only with evince but i'm not sure.
