BTW: make yourself a .sikuli to call from command line to stop the IDE and remember what you need and use it to start the IDE and rearrange the windows.

LOL, but I like the idea. =) The only problem is how to get the windows that were closed when Sikuli exited?

easy: the IDE window: App().window()

some search and calculation: The partitioning inside (left bar, message area) by looking for key visuals inside the app window.

a bit tricky: If you want to reopen the scripts, you might read the frontmost tab and close them one by one or grab the filename from a finally aborted save-to.

But how to extract file path from tab title? Even if OCR will successfully recognizes the name, it is not the full path.
