update manager failed on package libgnome-window-settings1

Update manager failed with following error message:
"installArchives() failed: dpkg: error: parsing file '/var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 8746 package 'libgnome-window-settings1':

 missing version"

Tried to remove and reinstall mentioned package in synaptic package manager which gave me following error message:
"dpkg: error: parsing file '/var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 8746 package 'libgnome-window-settings1':
 missing version

Nothing was recovered.

No program can be installed anymore, without the same error message

Which mirror(s) have you set in your apt configuration? it seems like libgnome-window-settings1 package is corrupted or something.
