Bug Description

Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

This may be related to #7945454, but it wouldn't let me add my info to it, and it may well be different.

Chromium doesn't (and therefore websites don't) see Flash as installed.

I'm on 64-bit Natty, fully updated.

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. You seem to be running the lucid version of chromium, could you please try switching to natty (assuming that's the release you are on, as apport suggests)?

Okay. I've upgraded to 13.0.782.15~r88529+1-0ubuntu1~ucd~dev1~natty. Still the same problem.

Thank you for the update. Does Flash work in any other browser (like Firefox)?

Tested it in Firefox and Epiphany. Neither one has Flash.

Thank you for the update. Could you please try reinstalling flashplayer-installer:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall flashplugin-installer

I can try that when I get home tonight.

I guess I should have mentioned that I did try "aptitude reinstall flashplugin-nonfree". I expect that'll be different based on the difference in package, though.

That's just a transitional package at this point.

Sweet, that fixed it. Thanks!

Ok, so it seems that the upgrade didn't download/install flash properly. I'm glad reinstalling fixed it for you. I'm therefore closing this bug. Please report any other issues you may find.
