Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-session

When I start ubuntu, the CPU is showing 80-90% use just at an idle desktop. If I open an application then the CPU is always jumping to 100%--which makes doing things very slow. At idle desktop, the Processes in the System Monitor are all showing 0% CPU usage. Yet my CPU is showing between 80-90% under Resources at idle.

Sorry that nobody had time to look at this bug report before the Ubuntu version expired. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since then, and the bug may have been fixed. If you still have the problem with a current version of Ubuntu, please reopen the report.
