Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Firefox 2.0.0.1:
Firefox does not display the following side correctly: http://www.kmelektronik.de
You can see the error on the left hand side.

If I use Firefox 2.0.0.1 on other distributions, the program works correctly.

Looks okay to me, can you provide a screenshot to show what you mean? This issue is very likely flash related, what version of Flash player do you have?

I have used both Firefox 2.0.0.1 and Konqueror (from KDE 3.5.5).
Screenshot from that side as an attachment.

I think this bug is not related to firefox.

To point 2.

A restart of the computer is nessecary to solve the display problem.

My resolution was 1024*768 but I didn't have this problem on an Edgy or Feisty system. How does it look if you install flashplugin-nonfree (you may need multiverse)

I have installed flashplayer 9 on my AMD64 system.
apt-get install linux32
apt-get install gsfonts
apt-get install gsfonts-x11

The problem with the corrupted webpage still persists.

how did you install flashplayer? there may be an issue with architecture problems. I wonder if anyone can reproduce on 64-bit.

I have downloaded flashplayer from the adobe webside.
Extracted it.
linux32 ./flashplayer-installer.
The plugin was installed into /usr/lib/firefox.

Is this still an issue? If so, does Fx recognize the plugin?

Ubuntu Firefox display error on left hand side of browser.

OK, I hope I HAD the same problem. When I would log on to some websites, specifically GMAIL, the left hand side of my Firefox browser would show a display error. It would look like 2"x2" blocks digitizing.... It's hard to explain.

I went to tools and add-ons and added FashGot. So far so good. The error disappeared immediately.

Good luck.
