Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox
Two days ago, I upgraded to Ubuntu 11.04. I selected all of the default options when asked.
After some unpleasantness in launching applications, I saw that the applications I tried (Firefox, Thunderbird, and even the window I'm typing into now!) fail to draw properly if they are too wide or high. If I manually stretch them, the content eventually disappears entirely. If I reduce their size sufficiently, the content re-appears. There also seems to be a function of what the content happens to be. For example, when I launched Thunderbird, the basic mail window with folder list, subject list, and the contents of the selected message, were all displayed as they were with my 10.4 system. However, when I tried to reply, the window was larger and completely blanks. By accident, I saw that the contents appeared when I shrank the window, the expected contents appeared. Firefox works the same way. It seems that, when the width gets to be wide enough that the horizontal scrollbar vanished or is about to, the content disappears. As I'm typing this, I see that the contents of this window disappears as soon as the scrollbar becomes as wide as this text box.
