Bug Description

Binary package hint: banshee

I am running 11.04 with Unity.
The problem appeared today after I accidentaly changed from the "unity" profile to "reset to defaults" in compiz config manager.
That completely broke my Interface which I recovered with "unity --reset" at the command line. I got some error messages there which I can reproduce every time. Adding them to this bug report.

Now unity works BUT every time I use banshee I get a very distorted Desktop (img attached). Everything worked fine until I did the profile thing I mentioned above.

Quitting Banshee fixes the problem.
I have not noticed anything else yet.

When you have a screen like the one in the shot, can you switch desktop & back? If yes does that fix the problem?
I think it may just be a redraw issue, in which case this is a duplicate bug

I can switch Workspaces/Dekstops and 2 of the 4 are affected as seen in the screenshot, the others are even worse.

Unfortunately I have reinstalled Ubuntu (for other reasons) and can only give information from memory.

Can you reproduce this bug in a Classic Desktop session with Compiz running? If yes, then (in Classic desktop) try switching off effects. Can you reproduce it then?

This seems more like a Compiz issue than a Unity issue.

As I said, I can't try anything anymore due to reinstalling my system.

The problem only exists when Banshee is open. I cannot say if it would have happened in a classic session.
