Bug Description

Binary package hint: bluez

I have an Alienware M15x that is running Natty, upgraded from Maverick, upgraded from Lucid...

Bluetoothd seems to die at random intervals. It just quietly goes away and doesn't generate a crash, so apport doesn't fire to let me know. Usually this happens after it's sat idle for a while, it never seems to happen when I'm actually on the machine using it.

The only thing I use bluetooth for is a bluetooth Magic Mouse. I don't use it for keyboard or audio.

Here's some info from my system:

This appeared on console while running bluetooth-properties when I discovered the failure this morning:
bladernr@klaatu:~$ bluetooth-properties
** Message: adding killswitch idx 3 state KILLSWITCH_STATE_UNBLOCKED
** Message: killswitch 3 is KILLSWITCH_STATE_UNBLOCKED

** Message: killswitches state KILLSWITCH_STATE_UNBLOCKED
** Message: killswitch 3 is KILLSWITCH_STATE_UNBLOCKED
** Message: killswitches state KILLSWITCH_STATE_UNBLOCKED

If you look at Syslog, you'll see a series of tracebacks where bluetoothd dies.

I have to do a full reboot to get bluetooth working again.
