Bug Description

Binary package hint: vlc

In the "System Info" applet for the GNOME 3 Control Center, VLC is not available as a selection for the default video player setting.

And how exactly is VLC supposed to appear there? VLC provides a .desktop file, has done so for years, and worked fine with just about every file manager (including GNOME 2 AFAIK).

The linked Debian bug is fixed in 1.1.10-1 and therefore this bug with 1.1.10-1ubuntu1.
