Bug Description

Binary package hint: plasma-widget-folderview

Right-click an icon in the folder view and choose rename... rename the icon... hit Enter. Enter should simply complete the renaming, but instead it completes the renaming and tries to execute the icon as a link *using the pre-renamed name*. This invariably generates an error that 'The file or folder /full/path/to/folder/icon/here does not exist.'

BTW, this was tested with the current Kubuntu Oneiric beta using plasma-widget-folder version 4:4.6.3-1ubuntu1... though I know this bug has been present in the previous version as well.

Same problem here. Kubuntu 11.04 with KDE 4.6.2

This bug should be marked as High importance, it breaks BASIC functionality and gives distribution a very poor image!!!.
Any Kubuntu newbie will try to rename a file on his desktop. If that simple task fails...... omg

Closing in favor of upstream report, this issue ultimately needs to be resolved in Plasma, rather than Kubuntu.
