Bug Description

xserver-xorg-core = 1.1.1-0ubuntu12 compiz works
xserver-xorg-core = 1.1.1-0ubuntu13 compiz (0.3.4 and 0.3.6) starts but the screen becomes white. I can only see the mouse pointer and activate the "scale" plugin, but windows and desktop are white/light grey.

I'm using "radeon". But in the forum I see that someone who as an intel card or fglrx+xgl is experiencing the same problem

I also confirm this bug using intel graphics, see Bug #79403.

I've tested the above hypothesis by removing 37_Fix-__glXDRIbindTexImage-for-32-bpp-on-big-endian-platforms.diff from debian/patches/series, and I've concluded that xorg-server is /not/ responsible for the above breakage, because the symptoms are identical.

Daniel,

I can confirm that downgrading to ubuntu12 (on amd64) fixes the problem as well.

What, in your opinion, causes the ubuntu12 package to work and the ubuntu13 to fail then?

The only thing that I've done is revert xserver-xorg-core to
1.1.1-0ubuntu12 and compiz returned to work.
