Bug Description

The compiz package available at natty (1:0.9.4+bzr20110415-0ubuntu2) provides an additional plugin called 'grid', that unity expects to be there and try to load it as default.

You can find the code at http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~unity-team/compiz/trunk/files/head:/plugins/grid/, but it probably needs porting work to make it fully compatible with GLES.
